Data Movement Engineer with strong hands-on experience in file and object storage technologies. The ideal candidate will be proficient in SMB and NFS protocols and have practical experience interacting with storage solutions in AWS, including Amazon S3. This role will design, implement, and support storage movement services that are secure, scalable, and highly available for our applications and users.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent experience.

• 1+ years of experience as a Storage Engineer, Systems Engineer, or similar infrastructure role.

Strong hands-on experience with:

• SMB (CIFS) configuration and management on enterprise storage or file servers.

• NFS configuration and management in Linux/UNIX environments.

Practical experience with AWS services, including:

• Amazon S3 (buckets, versioning, lifecycle policies, encryption, access control).

• Basic understanding of IAM roles, policies, and security best practices.

• Solid understanding of TCP/IP networking fundamentals as they relate to storage (DNS, routing, firewalls, load balancing).

• Experience with performance tuning and troubleshooting storage related issues.

• Scripting skills (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell) for automation and operational efficiency.

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with additional AWS storage services (EFS, FSx, EBS, Storage Gateway).

• Experience with enterprise NAS platforms (e.g., NetApp, Dell/EMC, Isilon, Pure, etc.).

• Familiarity with infrastructure as code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible).

• Experience in highly regulated or enterprise environments.

• Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, Solutions Architect, or storage vendor certifications).
