Role Description

We are seeking a highly experienced AWS DevOps Architect with strong hands-on expertise in AWS cloud architecture, Kubernetes, and DevOps automation. The ideal candidate will have the ability to design and implement scalable, secure, and resilient cloud solutions, with deep practical knowledge of container orchestration, infrastructure as code, CI/CD, and modern AWS architectural patterns. This role requires someone who can make sound technical decisions, justify architecture choices, and operate effectively in complex enterprise environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and architect end-to-end AWS cloud solutions aligned with enterprise requirements
  • Lead DevOps strategy and implementation across infrastructure, deployment, and operations
  • Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK
  • Architect and support Kubernetes-based workloads, with strong practical knowledge of EKS and Kubernetes internals
  • Define Kubernetes request flow, service interactions, scaling approaches, and workload placement strategies
  • Implement and optimize autoscaling strategies based on workload characteristics, including CPU-bound, memory-bound, and event-driven use cases
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, AWS Code Pipeline, or similar tools
  • Design secure, scalable, and highly available AWS environments
  • Automate application deployment, configuration management, and infrastructure provisioning
  • Establish monitoring, logging, alerting, and incident response practices
  • Collaborate with development, security, and operations teams to improve reliability, performance, and delivery speed
  • Evaluate architecture options and provide clear technical justification for selected solutions
  • Implement secure connectivity patterns between applications and managed services, including password less authentication approaches where applicable
  • Optimize cloud cost, reliability, and operational efficiency
  • Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and best-practice guidance to engineering teams

Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in DevOps, cloud engineering, infrastructure engineering, or cloud architecture
  • Strong, hands-on practical experience with Kubernetes and AWS
  • Deep understanding of Kubernetes components, request flow, deployments, services, ingress, configmaps, secrets, and pod lifecycle
  • Strong knowledge of Kubernetes autoscaling mechanisms, including:
    • Horizontal Pod Autoscaler (HPA)
    • Vertical Pod Autoscaler (VPA)
    • Cluster Autoscaler
    • When and how to select the appropriate scaling strategy
  • Extensive experience with AWS services such as:
    • EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, Route 53
    • EKS, ECS, Lambda
    • CloudWatch, CloudTrail, ELB, Auto Scaling
    • RDS, DynamoDB, SQS, SNS
  • Ability to design end-to-end AWS architectures and clearly justify technical decisions
  • Experience implementing secure application-to-database connectivity patterns, including password less or IAM-based approaches where appropriate
  • Proficiency in CI/CD tools and release automation
  • Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation
  • Solid Linux administration, networking, scripting, and automation skills
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes in production environments
  • Strong understanding of AWS security best practices and identity/access management
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional
  • Experience with microservices and distributed system design
  • Familiarity with observability platforms such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or Splunk
  • Experience with enterprise-scale multi-account AWS environments and landing zones
  • Knowledge of Python, Bash, or PowerShell scripting
  • Experience with service mesh technologies such as Istio or Linkerd
  • Exposure to compliance-driven environments and security governance
