Role Description
Educational and Professional Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum of 6 - 10 years of hands-on experience in data governance roles within the technology industry.
- Advanced degree in a related field and certifications in data governance or related areas is desirable but not mandatory.
Technical Expertise
- High proficiency in using Collibra Data Catalog for data governance activities, including workflow development and operational model design.
- Expertise in metadata management and implementing metadata cataloging processes to enhance data discoverability, accessibility, and governance.
- Proven experience supporting the design and implementation of data governance frameworks, policies, and procedures that ensure data integrity, security, and regulatory compliance.
- Proficiency in Collibra workflow development, including custom workflow creation and optimization.
- Familiarity with integration architecture to enable seamless interoperability between Collibra and other enterprise systems.
- Collibra Ranger Certification
- Collibra DQ expertise
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, for reporting and data analysis; SQL, HTML
Functional Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish and maintain data stewardship and ownership roles.
- Manage metadata to ensure accuracy, consistency, and accessibility across the enterprise.
- Implement and manage metadata cataloging processes to improve data discoverability and usability.
- Utilize Collibra to drive data governance activities and provide training to teams to enhance adoption and maturity.
- Lead or assist in project management activities related to data governance initiatives, ensuring timely delivery and stakeholder alignment.
- Provide expert guidance and support to metadata stewards, ensuring compliance with governance policies.
- Conduct training sessions, workshops, and demos for various stakeholders, including senior management, to promote data governance awareness and adoption.
- Facilitate technical architecture discussions and provide recommendations aligned with industry best practices and organizational standards.
Soft Skills and Communication
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with fluency in English.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, capable of working collaboratively across business and IT teams. Ability to work independently with divisional stakeholders.
- Ability to conduct effective training sessions and presentations tailored to diverse audiences.
- Team-oriented mindset with a cooperative and proactive approach to problem-solving.
Preferred but Not Essential
- Experience working in a research-intensive biopharmaceutical or life sciences company.
- Experience with AI stewardship and governance of AI models, ensuring compliance and ethical use of AI-driven data assets.
- Strong understanding of data quality management
- Additional certifications in data governance or related disciplines (DAMA, etc.)
- Advanced degree in a relevant field.
