About the role
You will own and evolve a set of TypeScript/React applications that run across a large multi-brand WordPress VIP platform — on the public site, inside the Gutenberg block editor, and inside custom admin dashboards. The frontend is not a single SPA; it spans many plugins and integrates with typed PHP↔React data contracts.
Key responsibilities
Build and maintain React apps rendered from Gutenberg blocks (filterable listings, URL-synced state, server data via React Query). Develop configuration-driven form experiences (PHP-side config, generic React renderer, conditional field logic, schema-based validation). Keep typed contracts and generated artifacts (OpenAPI codegen, zod schemas) in sync with PHP fixtures. Ensure correctness, accessibility, and i18n discipline across multiple markets, languages, and RTL layouts.
Tech stack
Core: React 18, TypeScript (strict). Data / state: React Query, react-hook-form, custom URL-param stores. Validation: Zod, OpenAPI-driven type generation. UI: Ant Design, Radix headless primitives, @wordpress/components. i18n: i18next / react-i18next, RTL support. Build / QA: Webpack, ESLint, Prettier, Jest.
Must-haves
Strong React 18 + TypeScript with strict typing. Solid CSS fundamentals — specificity, cascade, responsive and RTL layouts, styling within WordPress context. Server-state management (React Query or equivalent). Runtime schema validation (zod or similar). Good judgment on accessibility and internationalisation. Pragmatic about CI gates and keeping contracts in sync.
Nice-to-haves
WordPress / Gutenberg experience (@wordpress/*, block editor, apiFetch). Ant Design or Radix / headless UI; type-safe CSS. OpenAPI codegen and i18next. Comfort reading modular PHP in a WordPress VIP / Composer monorepo.
